Pensioners across Islington and London are invited to attend a meeting to discuss fuel poverty and the growing anger felt by senior citizens over cuts to the winter fuel payment and high fuel bills.
The event, at Islington Town Hall, is being hosted by Islington Pensioners' Forum and will have expert speakers and a discussion of the causes and effects of fuel poverty. Islington Council's Energy Team will be giving details of recent steps taken by the council to tackle fuel poverty, offering practical advice on staying warm and well this winter and outlining what the council is looking to do in the future to help.

- Give advice and help if you are in fuel debt
- Offer practical help with keeping warm
- Check if you can get an Energy Doctor home visit to give adviceand install energy saving items to help you save on fuel bills
- Give advice on any grants and discounts available
- Arrange practical energy saving workshops for community groups
